There was a reasonably warm spell mid month, but it broke no records and did not reflect any of the global warming claims that have been made recently.

January was a very uncomplicated month. Rainfall was well beneath average and certainly considerably less than the same month last year. We had some frosty mornings but temperatures were very average for the time of year and snowfall amounted to almost nothing and then being confined mainly to the higher ground of The Cheviot.

A cool wet April with over twice the average rainfall (average 51mm) but very typical of the wide climate variations that are a common feature of a maritime climate spring.
Even the snowshowers at the end of the month are not unusual and are in no way an indicator of co-called climate change, as some claim.

November was a very wet month with rainfall being more than double the 75mm average for November.
Despite the new move to the naming of storms in the UK, the three that did occur did not bring unusually bad conditions to our area. The naming process is more of a political move to promote awareness of climate for the COP21 Climate Summit in Paris this December.
