Free Web Space

This is the area of the web site where the groups, clubs, organisations, churches and institutions etc, in the Glanton area etc, can have their own exclusive free web space for the purpose of keeping in touch with people and letting them know who and what they are and what they are up to with all their news and events etc.

Contacting and submitting items to Glanton on line

General.

All communication with the editor should be via email to the following address:

When sending email, please make sure that the subject line is not left blank: Please enter your name or organisation and this will ensure that your email is not fast tracked to the Trash folder!

The main objective is to ensure that all material destined for the web pages is delivered to the editor in electronic form, either in an email for simple text items, or as an email file attachment for photos, word processed or pdf documents.

Text files.

We can accept a wide variety of file types but please try to use one of the more common types as found in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Works or Open Office Org etc.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that all material submitted is thoroughly checked for spelling and punctuation before being emailed.

Photographs.

Photographs should be sent in jpeg format and should be no larger than 1024 pixels on their longest side. Most modern digital cameras take photos much larger than this and it will be necessary to re-size before submitting. If you do not have a photo-editing package and are unfamiliar with re-sizing I would suggest downloading one of the free on-line packages such as Picasa which can be downloaded here. http://picasa.google.com/ . If you have difficulty re-sizing pictures then just email the originals and we will re-size. However, big pictures require much more time to send via email.

When sending photos, remember to include details of the picture in your email; who it is, what it is and who took it, etc. etc.

Clubs, Organisations, Charities etc.

In the first instance please email the editor with your basic details; name of organisation, location, contact details, what you do etc; and also how you would like to use space on the site to support your organisation; event dates, reports, links, photos etc. We will then be able to ensure you have the free space on the site that serves your needs.

Businesses and Service providers, etc.

Local businesses and service providers etc, will be able to submit a small advertisement for free insertion on the web-site. Please email details of your business: name, services provided, address, contact phone numbers and the address of your web-site, if you have one. An entry will then be made on the relevant pages. If more details are required we will email you.

Commercial organisations wanting a larger site presence or firms from well outside the Glanton and neighbouring area should email for further details as a fee may be chargeable in such instances.

Contributors of Articles and Photographs

Please submit all articles and photographs in accordance with the guide lines above. It must be understood that it may not always be possible for various reasons to publish all the submissions received and in all matters of publication the editor's decision will be final.

Glanton on line is a public web-site and it is important that material submitted complies with UK and international copyright law. This means that you must either be the copyright owner or have the express permission of the copyright owner for any written material or photograph that you submit.
